We have recently created this page as a continuation of the page posted with Legacy earlier this year via Everydayhero. Everydayhero is closing Nov 30th.

As part of our ongoing philanthropic program of work and Pledge 1 commitment at Thames Capital, in support of Legacy.

We feel strongly that Legacy’s work and mission very closely aligns with our individual and corporate values and work we wish to support.

As with all worthwhile challenges, we wouldn’t be asking for donations without a bit of personal pain being involved. I signed up earlier this year to run my first ultra marathon with Fusion Events for their Valley Ultra Marathon running "'the whole hog" (58km) held in the Craigieburn mountains on the New Zealand's South Island on Sat 21st November 2020: https://www.ultranz.com/valleyultra

Given the Covid pandemic related travel restrictions still in place between Australia and NZ, I am unable to travel to NZ for this event. The Fusion events crew have kindly allowed me to transfer my entry place to next year so I will be competing in the same race or a similar race earlier next year.

As covid-19 continues to impact businesses, charities and NFP's across the board, reducing revenues and regular donations, I considered that we could do more to raise funds for Legacy and show our continued support. The donations made to date have already been credited to Legacy and are very much appreciated. $2,314.68 of donations toward my goal of $10,0000 have been donated to date and is very much appreciated.

Legacy plays such an important role, now more than ever, in supporting the families of those who have lost a family member whilst serving their country and in particular the older Australian generation who committed so much so that we can live as we do today.

With Anzac Day commemorations unable to happen in 2020 and leagues clubs across Australia closed, both recognition and revenue impacts will be felt.

The event is obviously now quite a way off , but all the donations committed now and up until the event goes immediately to Legacy at the time of donation so they can continue their work throughout this period.
